Though particular roles may be assigned – writer/s, director/s, actor/s, designer/s – the creation of the piece, whether wholly original or adapted, happens with the artists working together in the rehearsal room, informing each others processes.

Young participants will be exposed to a variety of processes in ensemble-theatre-making, including adaption, group writing, found text, improvisation, working with counterpoint and creating solo performance, as well as methods of offering critical feedback on works-in-progress.

This course encourages young actors to explore some of the most up-to-date forms of theatre making and to have a full creative engagement with the work itself. It embraces and celebrates the art of theatre and performance and the young performers are invited to take artistic risks and discover their own creative voices.
