“Chasing The Wind” is a heartwarming theatrical production centred around the poignant story of a child who selflessly donates their heart to another. This touching narrative unfolds as an incredible journey, exploring themes of generosity, bravery, and the indomitable human spirit. It highlights the profound impact of organ donation and the bonds that form when one life saves another.

The play intricately weaves together the emotions of the donor’s family with the recipient’s quest to honour and fulfil the cherished dreams that were once held dear by the child. Through powerful performances, evocative staging, and a stirring score, “Chasing The Wind” brings to life a tale of hope and renewal. Audiences will be captivated by its tender portrayal of loss, love, and the relentless pursuit of dreams, leaving viewers with a renewed sense of humanity and compassion.

We’re looking for dynamic and energetic performers aged 8 – 25 for our forthcoming production of ‘CHASING THE WIND’.

The audition will be a friendly, workshop style audition, which will include Movement, Voice and Acting.

Please prepare a verse and chorus of a song – this will be performed unaccompanied.

Please choice a song that allows us to hear your natural voice.

Please wear comfortable clothing as you will be expected to take part, freely in physical activity.

We want to create a company where everyone feels valued regardless of their background, identity, or circumstances. Therefore, we actively encourage people with different backgrounds to join us.

Production Information

Production week will run from Monday 21st July – Saturday 2nd August 2025

Working with the OTW team you will create a new musical that will be the first performance in our new building – Oldham Theatre Workshop – The Old Library.

The production week will include a dress and tech rehearsal as well as performances on –

Friday 25th July – Evening performance.

Saturday 26th July – Matinee and Evening Performance.

Monday 28th July – Evening Performance.

Tuesday 29th July – Evening Performance.

Wednesday 30th July – Evening Performance.

Thursday 31st July – Evening Performance.

Friday 1st August – Evening Performance.

Saturday 2nd August – Matinee and Evening Performance.

Please note; if you are NOT available for the entirety of the production week, From Monday 21st July – Saturday 2nd, you will sadly not be able to take part in the production.

If you have a holiday book in the run up to the performance, please speak with the OTW team before booking your audition.

OTW has an ongoing relationship with industry professionals, and we promise to try to invite Agents and Casting Directors to the performances.

Rehearsal Information

Weekly rehearsals will take place at OTW on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 5:45PM – 8:45PM as of Monday 21st April 2025.

Intensive rehearsal week – We will be rehearsing over the May Half term, from Sunday 25th May – Sunday 1st June, Times TBC.

Some weekend rehearsals may take place as we move closer to the performance.

Production Fees:-

Should you be successful in gaining a place in the company you will be asked to pay one of the following fees:-
