Feathers, Fishnets, sequins and jazz hands. The chorus belt out an irresistibly catchy number. It’s the hottest ticket in town…..

This extraordinary new musical features the stories of real people in a world where the lines between private and public seem blurred. Focussing explicitly on some of the many challenges, antagonisms, prejudices and resentments that seethe through young people’s lives today ‘Don’t Turn My Life Into A Musical’ highlights the sometimes devastating effects media glamour and misrepresentation can have.

Darkly funny and deeply moving this refreshing new piece of musical theatre is one not to miss.

Audition Information:-

We’re looking for high energy performers aged 13 – 25 for a mixture of singing and non-singing roles.

The audition will be a friendly, workshop style audition, which will include singing, acting and dancing. And will enable you to showcase and share your skills.

Please prepare the following for the audition:-

• A verse and a chorus (unaccompanied) of a song of your choice to share at the audition. Please choose a contemporary song from any genre. please also sing it in your natural voice with your own accent.
• please wear comfortable clothing as you will be expected to take part, freely in physical activity.

Production Information:

Production week will run from Monday 1st – Saturday 6th August 2022

Working with the OTW team you will create a piece of theatre which will be performed live at Oldham Coliseum Theatre.

OTW has an ongoing relationship with industry professionals and we promise to make an effort to invite Agents and Casting Directors to all of the performances.

Please note; if you are not available for the entirety of the production week – you will sadly not be able to take part in the production.

Rehearsal Information:

To kick start our rehearsals, we will be running a residential rehearsal week from Tuesday 19th – Friday 22nd April 2022 at the Conway Centre in Anglesey (further information will be shared with successful applicants).

Weekly rehearsals will then take place at OTW on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6:00PM – 9:00PM as of Monday 25th April 2022. We might include some weekend rehearsals as we move towards our production week.

Production Fee:

Should you be successful in gaining a place in the company you will be asked to pay one of the following fees:-

If you live inside Oldham: £101 (or if in receipt of benefit) £51

If you live outside Oldham: £118 (or if in receipt of benefit) £59
