The Story

Guinea Pig

‘They’re saying that we’re guinea pigs, that we are growing up trapped, like in a laboratory. But everyone’s trapped by something. It’s what you make of the cage that counts.‘

It’s 2028, on the eve of a referendum that might change young people’s lives forever.

The clock is ticking. Tomorrow, the nation will decide whether to unplug an entire generation. As the ban on smartphones for under-16s looms, a group of young people grapple with the unknown, all while navigating the exhilarating, chaotic, and daunting journey of growing up.

Who defines you? Who decides your story, influences your choices, the way the world sees you? Are you in control?

This original heartwarming pop rock musical explores what it means to grow up against the backdrop of a technological revolution and is fuelled by humour, hashtags and heartbreak.
