This Autumn join us for a performance experience with a difference…
Working with our OTW creative team you will devise a new piece of immersive theatre to be performed live (socially distanced of course!) at the Grange Arts Centre at the end of November. Mixing soundscapes and live action this enveloping musical piece will explore the lives of three young people and the bubbles they create to protect themselves from the world.
Please note: Should, for any reason we find ourselves unable to produce this piece as a live performance we will produce a digital – online alternative within the same timescales.
Rehearsals will take place online via Zoom and later in the Oldham Theatre Workshop studio following all the latest guidelines to ensure you have a safe, creative experience. To ensure we can deliver the best experience for cast and audience the cast size will be smaller than usual.
Weekly rehearsals will take place on Monday and Wednesday evenings from Monday September 14th and the production week will be Saturday 21st November – Saturday 28th November. (Please note if you are not available for the entirety of the production week you will be unable to take part)
Auditions will take place online on Thursday August 27th via Zoom.
We are looking for performers aged 8-25 for a mix of singing/non singing roles and you will be asked to prepare a song (a verse and a chorus unaccompanied) of your choice to share at the audition.
We would also like you to prepare a short piece of text (no longer than 1 minute) to deliver in the session. This could be a section of a story, lyrics to a song, a poem or a piece of new writing. If you can’t think of anything then click on the bar below to download an audition piece provided by our creative team.
The audition will be a friendly informal group-based audition to enable you to show and share your skills.
We understand that this continues to be a challenging time for many and so we are very pleased to offer all our workshops and events at a 20% discounted rate.
